With UCIT's assistance, we now have a long term plan for the organisation that allows us to continue our community work, free from an unserviceable debt with other financial institutions.
Davy Kettyles, Enniskillen Community Development Project, Co Fermanagh

We at Fort Dunree have found UCIT very easy to deal with and prompt in their loan process
David Magee, Manager, Fort Dunree, Co Donegal

The social finance received from UCIT provides lifeline funding to ensure that this project remains financially viable
Sister Celine McArdle, Director of the Iontas Resource Centre, Co Monaghan

We were very impressed by the practical approach adopted by UCIT. Rather than making us jump through hoops they simply listened to our needs and after a fairly straightforward application process, they were able to provide us with the funding we needed almost immediately.
Gerard Kelly, Chairman, Cloney Rural Development Association, Co Antrim

UCIT understood our set up and what we were trying to achieve right from the outset.  Other lenders didn't seem to understand our mixed economy of grant aid and earned income and, unlike UCIT, they offered little reassurance that they would provide flexibility or support if we ever need it.  We also like the fact that UCIT don't charge administration fees so we can budget with more certainty and know there aren't any surprises lurking around the corner
Colm Bradley, Director, Community Technical Aid, Belfast

Any venture such as Scribbles needs support in specific areas. UCIT has provided us with access to bridging finance that wasn’t accessible through other channels therefore securing the sustainable future of the business.
Keith Hamilton, Chief Executive, Scribbles Day Nursery, Taughmonagh Community Forum Ltd, Belfast

This project has made a significant impact in the creation of jobs and business opportunities within the Ballycolman and wider Strabane areas.  Without the financial assistance given by UCIT none of this would have been possible. On behalf of all associated with Strabane Training Services we thank you very much.
Eugene McCormack, Manager, Strabane Training Services Ltd, Co Tyrone

Due to the project running behind we found ourselves with a build up of costs and a subsequent shortfall in funding. UCIT were vital in providing the finance to fill this gap in order that the project could proceed
Alan Johnston, Centre Manager, Monkstown Community Forum Ltd, Belfast

UCIT offered Disability Action the opportunity of a partnership arrangement with an entity, which sought to provide finance to social economy ventures.  This provided a good strategic fit with Disability Action’s own corporate objectives, and added value not only to our financial situation but also to our work.
Dermot McCluskey, Financial Controller, Disability Action (NI) Ltd, Belfast

The loan from UCIT was extremely helpful in enabling us to expand our production of local native wildflower seed and they were very fast and efficient in providing it.  Their follow up programmes are also second to none in helping organisations develop their full potential.
Jackie Morgan, Business Development Officer, EcoSeeds Ltd, Co Down

UCIT have provided a flexible approach to the management of the loan and have supplied invaluable advice with regard to the development of the association.
Malcolm Duffey, Chairperson, Aughnacloy Development Association Ltd.

In October 2005, Filor Housing Association identified a responsibility to replace condemned and dangerous, solid fuel heating systems and an opportunity to replace old, defective and expensive Economy 7 systems. The Association identified forty properties were this was necessary. Filor had the possibility of obtaining £43,000 financial assistance through the Cosy Homes Grant Scheme but had to complete the project within the financial year. At this time the Bank would not support a loan facility due to the level of financial commitment Filor already had with them. Through UCIT, Filor was able to negotiate favourable terms for a loan and therefore avail of the Cosy Homes grant assistance. Without UCIT financial support when it was needed the project would have been lost along with the grant.
Dermot Leonard, General Manager, Filor Housing Association Ltd, Belfast

Without the support from UCIT we would have been unable to make this significant step towards consolidating our business model as an innovative social enterprise for the creative industries in Ireland. With the purchase and development of our new premises at Hill Street, we are now ideally placed to continue to support the potential of the creative industries for community led economic development. UCIT have showed foresight in supporting our activities and deploying their expertise to help develop the social economy in Nortnern Ireland.
Gary McCausland, Director, Dream Ireland Ltd, Belfast

The flexible and hands on approach of UCIT in providing loan assistance to the project has enabled us to meet our original project objectives.  We can now look forward to the future and to new project development with peace of mind.
Teresa O’Connor, Secretary, Brocagh and District Regeneration Group, Co Tyrone

Due to an understanding of the complexities of the community sector, UCIT were able to provide flexibility in arranging the finance we required. We found the rates to be competitive and we were also very happy to find there were no extra costs or hidden charges involved.
Irvine McKay, Chairman of North City Business Centre, Belfast

UCIT have provided a vital source of funding for our community project which would have been unavailable from purely commercial sources. Without this facility we would have been unable to meet the needs of the people of Poyntzpass in providing a neutral venue to assist in the commercial devlopment and improvement of community relations in the area.
John Waddell, Secretary, Poyntzpass Community Regeneration Company Ltd.

On behalf of Windsor Women's Centre I would like to express our thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Ulster Community Investment Trust for their invaluable support in enabling our organisation to expand and update our service and facilities for women in the community.  Without your support this project would not have been enable to proceed.  We wish to commend UCIT on their application process which is not only straightforward but also efficient and timely, with staff always available to guide organisations such as ours through the legal process. For community organisations UCIT is an invaluable resource and we have no hesitation in encouraging other community organisations to use their services.
