range of theoretical and applied subjects and will develop skills to enable them to

contribute to and lead future developments in their own communities.

DESIGNED WITH YOU IN MIND

The Bachelor of Honours in Social and Community Enterprise has been designed

with adult learners in mind. At LYIT we have 40 years of experience in supporting

our learners; in particular we have worked closely with our adult learners to

provide the skills necessary for them to progress through their programme.

Introductory modules are offered in your first semester which are designed to

nurture your progress; additionally modules are largely continuous assessment and

include some group work.

If you are unsure about making a four year commitment to this programme, our

exit qualifications mean that if you decide to leave, you can do so with a recognised

qualification after one, two or three years on the programme.

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The duration of the programme is four years part-time and involves learners

undertaking six taught modules per year and a thesis in the final year. The

programme will be delivered over 9 hours per week for 24 weeks per academic year.

The course fee is €1500 per annum, which may be paid in instalments. Subject to numbers the programme is due to commence on the 24th January 2012.
