This programme aims to prepare individuals who will create social value within
their communities, business, non-profit and the public sector. Learners will study a
range of theoretical and applied subjects and will develop skills to enable them to
contribute to and lead future developments in their own communities.

also have the skills and knowledge to achieve social impact throughout their careers
in the field of business, not-for-profit organisations, community organisations and

DESIGNED WITH YOU IN MIND
The Bachelor of Honours in Social and Community Enterprise has been designed
with adult learners in mind. At LYIT we have 40 years of experience in supporting
our learners; in particular we have worked closely with our adult learners to
provide the skills necessary for them to progress through their programme.
Introductory modules are offered in your first semester which are designed to
nurture your progress; additionally modules are largely continuous assessment and
include some group work.
If you are unsure about making a four year commitment to this programme, our
exit qualifications mean that if you decide to leave, you can do so with a recognised
qualification after one, two or three years on the programme.

undertaking six taught modules per year and a thesis in the final year. The
