Cashelard Community Development Association Ltd., t/a The Breesy Centre, outside Ballyshannon, received a cheque for €140,000 from UCIT (Ireland) to develop a multi-use play area to enhance existing facilities on offer, as well as refinancing bank borrowings, which simultaeneously eased their cash flow committments.
The Breesy Centre is a community owned and managed budget accommodation (which can take the form of Self Catering/Full Board) and conference centre. It also provides an opportunity for the local community to avail of health, educational, social, and recreational events. Among its purposes include assisting local tourism providers to market their services, and channelling tourist guests to local service providers. The Centre has recently been awarded the European Eco-Label Certificate for its services provided with respect to its environment.
As well as restructuring existing bank finance to counteract increased rate rises within the Euro area, the management group are have also developed a site at the back of the centre to a standard which would be suitable for multi-purpose use by the many visitors which attend the centre, in particular the 140 French students which visit on an annual basis. |
