The Board and staff team at UCIT would like to thank all those who have supported us in our 10 years of operation since 2001. During this period our loan fund has assisted over 200 community organisations and social enterprises in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland through providing loan finance totalling in excess of £30 million. Currently, UCIT has in excess of £17 million in capital under management, which is supporting local job creation, community engagement and economic development in areas of ROI and almost every city, town and village in NI.
Our work is not done however, and a key drive going forward, is to raise new capital for the third sector. UCIT continues to be at the forefront of this work, which involves targeted networking, raising the profile of both the sector and UCIT and making links with key individuals and organisations from both the public and private sectors.
UCIT has a bright future and is committed to supporting and growing the social economy across the island of Ireland. We believe that the sector has much to offer and we will continue to be innovative and demonstrate leadership, which will see the social economy being recognised as an important and vital part of a growing, stable economy.
